- Underwrite low to moderately complex borrower requests for lender consent on actions pertaining to loans secured by commercial real estate. Underwriting will include quantitative and qualitative analysis of legal documents property financial statements rent rolls real estate collateral and management experience. Transactions recommended for approval must conform to the terms of existing loan documents and loan servicing agreements. Transaction types include but are not limited to Partial Releases Easements Alterations to Collateral and Property Management Changes.
- Evaluate less complex borrower requests in conjunction with the loan documents and Pooling and Servicing Agreement (PSA). Prepare a written case memorandum for each transaction to identify and mitigate potential risks to Lender evaluate and recommend approval of those transactions which are in the best interest of the Lender. Verify the applicable terms of the loan documents and servicing agreements and provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of applicable factors including property operating statements property management/leasing rent rolls and borrower structures. Communicate with closers borrowers legal counsel and other third parties to negotiate document and close proposed transactions. Submit case write-ups to the Companys internal authorized signers for approval as well as third parties with approval rights per the servicing agreements.
- Bachelors degree in accounting finance or related discipline or equivalent job-related experience.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in CMBS loan analysis and/or asset management.
- Proven analytical skills and demonstrated competency in reviewing and analyzing financial statements.
- Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build productive working relationships at all levels of the organization as well as outside contacts and clients.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a high-volume environment.
- Computer literacy including good working knowledge of Excel Word and Access software programs and the technical competency to become quickly versed in other systems.
- Experience in real estate which may include underwriting closing credit analysis loan servicing or special servicing.
