Provides day-to-day oversight and direction to the Material Supply Section for Biotech and Research Organizations. Primary function of the position is to Manage and control all aspects of incoming transportation warehouse operations internal/external distribution of all receiving operations; raw material management consumable and intermediate inventory control operations and oversight of all other activities necessary for supporting and maintaining all cGMP R&D laboratory and other support operations at the Wyeth Biotech Sanford facility. Accountable for Receiving/Warehouse staff to ensure that all Material Supply and Warehouse operations are performed in a timely fashion efficiently and in accordance with all applicable company department and regulatory requirements (FDA cGMP EPA FAA etc.)
What You Will Achieve
In this role you will:
- Manage assigned staff to ensure efficient workflows and effective operations within areas of responsibility.
- Organize and prioritize workloads.
- Delegate responsibilities and manage daily operations and long-term projects/objectives for the department.
- Provide guidance counseling and direction in the development of subordinates.
- Perform annual performance evaluations and establish objectives for the group and individual staff.
- Manage staff dynamics through participating in processes for effective hiring promotion transfer or dismissal as appropriate to build efficient / effective staff and minimize turn over.
- Manage daily operations for planning and controlling receipts storage and distribution of cGMP raw materials consumables intermediates and Research material to from and within the plant site. Based on the Materials Requirement and Purchasing Plans the Manager oversees the supply chain management functions of shipment receipt storage and distribution of all raw materials intermediate bulk finished goods and purchased direct and indirect supplies for all site operations.
- Manage daily operations of the Receiving GMP Warehouse Operations as assigned for planning and controlling the activities needed to provide services to support the Materials Requirement Plans. Based on the Materials Requirement Plans and/or additional requests establish efficient schedules for personnel and workloads to assure all requirements are met. The Manager is responsible for assuring compliance to all cGMP policies and procedures related to all aspects of warehouse operations supporting GMP operations in the manufacture of vaccines.
- Provide direction and guidance to the Receiving and GMP Warehouse operational areas (including the raw material consumable and cold storage areas) personnel in developing and coordinating the Receiving and GMP Warehouse operational areas. Manage the Receiving GMP Warehouse operational areas (including the raw material consumable and cold storage areas) and assigned staff assuring compliance to safety cGMP and logistics requirements in compliance with department site corporate and government standards.
- Develop and validate product cold chain shipping systems that meet regulatory requirements while maintaining critical product release timelines. Assure that the shipping system is robust and meets extreme temperature variations.
- Maintain current shipping / receiving and warehouse operational area policies and SOPs. Create / update site policies and SOPs to reflect changes in department site corporate or government regulations. Assure new / current policies and SOPs are created / updated to reflect the current state of operations in the Shipping/Receiving and Warehouse operational areas. Review for accuracy and compliance and approve new or revised SOPs.
- Assure intermediate materials are properly accounted for and transferred to Shipping personnel for scheduled shipments and for approved transfers internal and external to the site. Maintain cold storage areas in compliance with cGMP policies and procedures. Maintain log entries and cold storage records to assure accurate real time information for efficient retrieval of information and materials.
- Responsible for the training of all shipping / receiving and warehouse operational area staff and assuring compliance to all relevant SOPs and policies. Assure area employees are trained in chemical awareness and appropriate hazardous communications required for the safe handling and storage of chemical materials.
- Primary contact within areas of responsibility for shipping / receiving and warehouse operational areas related audit responses commitment follow up investigations and procedure inquiries. Primary contact for all US Customs requests and site audits.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
- Applicant must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience; OR an as associates degree with 8 years of experience; OR a bachelors degree with at least 4 years of experience; OR a masters degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a PhD with 0 years of experience.
- Previous management experience.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $102900.00 to $171500.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
