What We Are Looking For

The Clinical Education Coordinator (CEC) is responsible for the planning and coordination of assigned projects that relate to the training and education of various health professions learners students and residents assigned to SAC Health. The CEC develops and maintains collaborative partnerships with local educators organizations and health care professionals to meet objectives targets and improve program delivery. The CEC performs the duties necessary to coordinate healthcare professions learner student and resident rotations and primary and secondary training sites provide direction to scheduling support personnel and assist with the development and maintenance of affiliation agreements with facilities. Under the general guidance of the Director Medical Operations and as directed by Assistant Chief Medical Officer of Clinical Education the CEC will assist with general administrative tasks service-learning clinical experience scheduling and coordination learner support project planning and delivery and other tasks as assigned.

Schedule: 5 days per week 8 hours per day 8:00 am-4:30pm Monday - Friday Location: SBC Clinic San Bernardino CA

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DELIVERABLES

  • Develops and maintains all health professions learner student and resident (hereafter: learners) rotations at all SAC Health sites according to schedules submitted by their department coordinators. Works closely with Provider Schedulers to ensure up-to-date accuracy of learner schedules.
  • Serves as liaison between SAC Health and all other entities that provide learners to ensure appropriate communication regarding effective and cohesive rotations/scheduling and accurate receipt of calendars schedules and up-to-date and fully executed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs).
  • Maintains familiarity with various external academic and clinical programs and individual provider responsibility to ensure program expectation while maintaining accurate placement by communicating with department directors to assess department needs and make scheduling determinations.
  • Maintains a current contact list for all SAC Health learners along with a monthly calendar that displays SAC Health Clinic Departments with learners assigned to that department.
  • Responsible for distributing learner rotation schedules and notifying appropriate staff of any changes. Ensures that learners are aware of the contact information and location details of their assigned rotation.
  • Develops maintains and participates in robust learner onboarding and offboarding program to provide the newcomer with SAC Health-specific policies and procedures guidelines Electronic Medical Records (EMR) templates and department-specific workflows and then to ensure that the departing learner has completed all required tasks before informing the sending program that the learner is released. Responsible for ensuring learners students and residents have a valid confidentiality statement signed and on file and appropriate EPIC access.
  • Assists with scheduling service-learning clinical experiences and training communicating with department coordinators and confirming all necessary information to commence and complete the experience including the location clearance/onboarding and exiting requirements and orientation procedures.
  • Helps to ensure the continued effectiveness of clinical education experiences by providing for ongoing data collection to provide long-range learner tracking continually monitoring and upgrading opportunities to accommodate current needs and demands and identifying exploring and pursuing academic opportunities with particular attention paid to future self-sufficiency of all activities.
  • Develops measurable project goals and objectives and monitors progress toward achievement. Collaborates across interdisciplinary work teams in conjunction with peer team leaders clinical champions and subject matter experts to assist with project delivery services and ensures the completion of assigned projects tasks within scheduled time frames following documented operational procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint. Maintains and provides data on project status and completion. Communicates effectively both written and oral.
  • Coordinates participates in and facilitates meetings and presentations contributes to planning and decision making coordinates project resources and communicates with project stakeholders to collect and disseminate project information.
  • Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading developing professional contacts with colleagues attending professional development courses
    attending/facilitating appropriate meetings participating on committees as required
    and attending training and/or courses as directed by the Program Manager.
  • Adheres to all SAC Health Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintains positive rapport among co-workers. It is the expectation of SAC Health that all staff members exhibit critical thinking and problem-solving skills which means going above and beyond the job description to find a solution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School diploma or its equivalent is required. A Bachelors degree is preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: NA
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years in a health-related field and project planning experience is required. Experience in clinical training programs and preceptor development is preferred.
  • Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Type 40 WPM Effective writing skills and competency using Microsoft Office programs (Outlook Word Excel Publisher and PowerPoint) including creating spreadsheets and data deliverables.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both LLU and SAC HEALTH partners. Develop knowledge of respect for and skills to engage
    with those of other cultures or backgrounds. Effectively manage and provide timely completion of assigned tasks. Capable of working independently and exercising sound judgement. Demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Essential Mental Abilities: Prioritize variety of assignments follow moderate/complex instructions work independently without supervision proofread documents for content/context accuracy recognize and appropriately report safety problems or other problem situations. Capable of dealing with conflicting priorities.
  • Work Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Must not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visas.
