Rockhurst University is currently seeking applications for a full-time Financial Success Coach. Founded by the Jesuits in 1910 Rockhurst is a comprehensive university of four thousand students that offers more than fifty undergraduate masters and doctoral programs taught by nationally recognized faculty. The Financial Success Coach is responsible for the overall management of an institutional grant that helps to integrate services that focus on financial coaching employment and connection to public benefits for low-to-moderate income students their families or community members. The position will provide financial coaching to individuals and manage the grant reporting and tracking. In addition they will also need to have the ability to foster strong relationships with contacts both inside (administrators advisors and faculty) and outside of the university (faculty and staff at other institutions of higher education). This position is a full-time position subject to grant funding and is currently funded through 6/30/2026. The position typically works 8am-4:30pm regular schedule though there may be some evening and weekend responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Meet with students families and other community members to develop understanding and skills in strengthening individual financial positions in line with LINC training and standards. (LINC training will be provided.)
  • Collaborate with other student success coaches and the career development center to build a strong support program for students.
  • Track program usage and success measures for clients in line with donor standards and university needs. Complete reports for the grant donor as required. Assist with additional efforts to renew the grant or develop new partnerships for funding.
  • As part of the student success team develop ways for financial success coaching to be part of the overall department strategies supporting students.
  • Work with student success employees in the community and in other institutions of higher education including the Association of Jesuit College and Universities higher education colleagues.

Rockhurst seeks candidates for this position who have proven success in the field of financial coaching preferably in higher education or non-profit environment. The successful candidate will have the personal qualities that exemplify the Universitys Jesuit character mission and commitment to excellence. An active approach to leadership by example and influences along with a collaborative team-oriented and highly communicative personal style will be essential skills for this trusted position. Specific requirements include:

  • Bachelors degree or related experience working in a position in finances higher education student services or community support environment.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with at least 5 years of prior experience working in a higher education setting or community support environment working with socio-economically challenged persons.
  • Able to speak and write effectively and possesses ability to communicate with persons in a multicultural environment.
  • Able to work in a team environment in an office setting.
  • Able to use common computer software programs including word documents spreadsheets and other proprietary data-tracking software packages.
  • Possesses strong problem-solve skills and can find creative/innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
