Assistant Golf Professional
Potomac Shores Golf Club is excited to announce an exceptional career opportunity for an Assistant Golf Professional! This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of golf operations while growing as a teaching professional.
Compensation: Up to $45000/per year.
Qualifications Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- 1-2 years of golf industry experience preferred
- College degree (PGM) preferred
- PGA Member or Associate (Apprentice) preferred
- Strong customer service and guest orientation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Dependable and professional demeanor
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily golf operations including tee sheet management merchandising and customer service
- Provide private and group golf instruction retaining 80% of lesson fees earned
- Lead and assist with golf clinics earning additional income
- Support tournament operations using Golf Genius (experience preferred)
- Assist with player development programs junior golf and member engagement initiatives
- Help manage the golf cart fleet practice facilities and course operations
- Perform PGA PGM activities and work toward PGA membership if applicable
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service to enhance the golf experience
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing facility and staff to ensure smooth operations
- Process customer reservations for guests of the golf course
- Coordinate individual group and tournament play as directed by the 1st Assistant Golf Professional and/or Head Golf Professional
- Assume 1st Assistant Golf Professionals duties in their absence
- Generate daily reports on rounds sales and other key performance metrics
- Work closely with the Marshall and Starter to monitor pace of play safety and course conditions
- Provide exceptional customer service to arriving guests and assist with check-in
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- PGA Associate or working toward PGA membership
- Previous experience in golf operations and instruction
- Strong knowledge of the game rules and etiquette
- Experience with Golf Genius tournament software is a plus
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
