As the central coordinator across multiple City departments and partner agencies we help ensure every event is safe successful and well-executed!
Werelooking for a thorough collaborative and customer-focusedSpecial Events Permit Specialistto join our Permit Coordination Team. This role manages the intake and processing of event permit applications reviews documentation and works closely withmultiplepartners to guide events through the permitting process.Youllalso provide technicalassistanceto organizersparticipatein the Special Event Committee andmaintainkey tracking systems for applications revenue and public-facing materials.

Top 3 Priorities:
Lead the intake processing and issuanceof special event permit applications working closely with Permit Coordination peers.
Serve as a liaisonbetween applicants the City and partner agencies to coordinate responses address issues andfacilitateproblem-solving throughout the permitting process.
Track and analyze event data including managing revenue logs and contributing to year-end reporting for the Special Events team.

Proven experience coordinating complex permit or major event planning processes involving multiple partners and regulations.

Outstanding attention to detail in reviewing applications permits insurance documents and site plans.
Exceptional communication - both written and verbal forms- to guide applicants collaborate with agencies and document key decisions.
Customer service attitude with the patience and professionalism to support a wide range of clients often under deadline pressure.
Technologicalproficiencyacross Microsoft Office SharePoint online databases and digitalpermitplatforms to streamline processes.
Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities while staying organized and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to equity with a strong alignment to the Citys Race and Social Justice Initiative and inclusive approach to public service.
Problem-solving skills to enable you toidentifysolutions in fast-paced dynamic environments.
Ability to handle variable workflows evolving deadlines and politically sensitive scenarios.
Knowledge of Municipal Code and City Ordinance interpretation is a plus.
In addition to the ability to perform the tasks described above you will need topossessthe below required qualifications:
One year of experience in administrative analysis budget administration or preparation office management personnel administration program administration as staff assistant or in a closely related field
And
Bachelors degree in business or public administration or another closely related field
Or
A combination of education and/or training and/or experience that provides an equivalent backgroundto perform the work of the class.

Work Environment:This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Employees will be expected to work in-office at the Seattle Municipal Tower in Downtown Seattle a minimum of three days a week. Individual schedules will bedeterminedbetween the employee and their supervisor.
