As a procurement coordinator within a construction and operation company your role will be to facilitate the procurement process ensuring timely and efficient acquisition of goods services and equipment required for constructions projects and ongoing operations .
You will work closely with projects managers vendors and several departments to source evaluate negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers .
Main duties and responsibilities : Vendor Selection Purchase order management Contract administration inventory control to support the companys construction and operational needs .
- Collaborate with the project manager and department heads to identify the procurement requirements for construction projects and ongoing operations
- conduct market research to get potential suppliers and gather information on pricing availability and quality of goods and services
2 . Supplier selection and evaluation :
- Evaluate potential suppliers in terms of quality cost reliability and compliance with company standards
- Review supplier proposals and quotations to determine the most suitable vendors for each procurement requirement
- Negotiate pricing terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure better agreements while maintaining cost effectiveness .
3. Purchase order Management :
- Generate purchase orders accurately and timely in compliance with company rules & procedures
- Collaborate with project managers and finance department to obtain necessary approvals and funding for purchases
- Monitor purchase order status track deliveries and resolve any issues or discrepancies
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods resolving any shipment or quality issues
4. Contract Administration :
- Manage contracts with suppliers and ensure compliance with contract terms conditions and legal requirements
- Monitor contract expiration dates renewals and amendments and maintain a centralized contract database
- Address and resolve any contract disputes or issues in collaboration with legal and project teams
5. Inventory Control :
- Establish and maintain an inventory system to track and control stock levels and construction materials equipment supplies .
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate and efficient receipt storage and distribution of materials
- Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy and minimize stock shortages or excess.
6. Documentation and Reporting :
- Maintain accurate database of vendor information purchase orders contracts and related documents
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities including spend analysis cost savings and vendor performance metrics
- Provide data and analysis to support budgeting forecasting and decision-making processes .
Qualifications :
Bachelor Degree in business administration supply chain management or related field
Minimum 3 to 4 years of Experience preferably in Construction field
Additional Information :
Excellent reading comprehension communication project management and multitasking skills.
Strong attention to details and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
