They implement an instructional therapeutic or skill development program for all students and plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students Objective:This position is accountable for assuming the responsibility for delivering high quality instructional experience through creativity resourcefulness and sound judgment consistent with the curriculum frameworks standards and the rules and regulations of the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School :Responsible for chairing annual IEP meetingResponsible for writing and revising IEPsServe as liaison for a caseload of Special Education studentsResponsible for effective management of the classroom environmentResponsible for using innovative approaches and instructional strategies including the effective use of technologies to increase student learning and confidence to learnResponsible for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student achievementResponsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning including implementing specific strategies for students with moderate to severe disabilitiesResponsible for the creation and implementation of differentiated curricula encompassing core content areas and life skillsResponsible for management of paraprofessional resources in the classroomResponsible for providing equal educational and employment opportunities to all individuals regardless of race color gender age religion gender identity national origin marital status sexual orientation disability or homelessnessPerformance of other job-related duties as assignedSocial/Civic Expectations:Freetown-Lakeville students and staff will: practice responsible citizenship; respect self and others; accept responsibility; and work Qualifications: DESE license in Special Education (grades 5-8) DegreePreferred Qualifications: experience in the content experience supporting students with special teaching students who are English language who are licensed in another state will be considered if they qualify for the temporary license from DESE (must possess the equivalent license from another state and must have documented proof of working under that license for at least three complete school years).
