Job Description

Job Description: Lead Early Preschool Teacher (Spanish fluent)
Responsibilities:
Works to ensure an environment where the early preschoolersfeel safe and that their needs and wants are responded to in a caring and consistent manner. Plans and implements activities that promote the physical and emotional development of the children in Spanish. Duties will consist of:

Executing a developmentally appropriate program in line with the goals and philosophy of The Pineapple School.
Teaching and interacting with the children in the Spanish language exposing them to songs finger plays music and dance in Spanish.
Implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans ensuring needed materials and supplies are available in advance.
Engaging children in a playful learning environment both indoors and outdoors (outdoor playtime consists of two scheduled 45-minute periods each day).
Ensuring the classroom is organized and stimulating; with age-appropriate print displays and activities available to children at all times.
Maintaining a safe and clean environment inside and outside the classroom.
Interacting with parents on a daily basis regularly reporting positive observations of each child.
Maintaining a safe and clean environment inside and outside the classroom in compliance with Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers and current policies of the Pineapple School (this includes taking out the trash; proper sanitizing of tables counters bathrooms and toys; and organizing drawers cabinets and shelves).
Leading mealtime activities modeling good manners and assisting children with personal hygiene including diaper changing.
Conducting individual assessments for students maintaining individual portfolios to support these findings.
Helping out in other areas of the center as needed.
Preparing crafts and activities for and participating in special events and celebrations such as Easter and Da de los Muertos.
Attending staff meetings training events and workshops during non-business hours and maintaining required level of training hours with required documentation.
