  • Purpose:To assist an administrator to manage a school program or division operation and serve as a leader in the areas of fiscal management risk management personnel communications and technology.

    Hours:8 hrs/day
    Contract Status: Regular/Probationary
    FLSA Status:Non-exempt -Classified
    Start Date:2025/2026 School Year
    Calendar:225Work Days
    Rate: Begining at$24.36/hr with Benefits
    Retirement Contribution:Corvallis School District participates in the Oregon PublicEmployee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. Upon eligibility the district contributes 6% of an employees salary to their Individual Account Program (IAP). Eligibility is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Serves as the senior administrative clerical staff responsible for supporting the building administrator(s) or department manager and provides administrative leadership to the office staff when appropriate.
    • Lead role in:
      • Identifying potential risk in the building i.e. physical risk situations;
      • Knowing which resources to access (people things organizations);
      • Designing or providing input to a plan of action as appropriate;
      • Interacting with appropriate people/organizations and
      • Implementing the action plan.
    • Effectively work with and respond to people from diverse cultures or backgrounds.
    • Provides general clerical and support services for supervisor and/or department staff.
    • Provides positive customer service to all inquiries.
    • Exercises independent judgment to manage building/program operations in a manner consistent with administrative direction district policies and procedures and goals of the instructional program.
    • Assists the development and management of budgets records facilities payroll and other business functions to ensure that building/program fiscal systems reflect district standards for quality and responsiveness to patrons staff and students.
    • Assists with building/program communications both oral and written in a manner that supports effective decision making and facilitates the work of other staff.
    • Maintains stores and retrieves information in a timely accurate and efficient manner using standard office systems equipment and software.
    • Under general direction of the administrator schedules staff to maximize efficient use of instructional time.
    • Assists with hiring processes in the building/program.
    • Within administrative guidelines evaluates student records and places students appropriately within the instruction program as assigned.
    • Assists others with clarification of policy law and contracts to help an employee parent student or community member understand what it means or what is expected.
    • Takes the lead in coaching other staff members. He/she may be asked to schedule work or otherwise lead the operations of the building/program.
    • Maintains high level of technology knowledge and serve as a coach for building/program staff.
    • Supervises students outside the classroom as assigned to support the districts discipline and instructional programs.
    • Performs minor medical and health procedures as requested in a manner which meets state and district guidelines.
    • Makes independent decisions in response to requests for meetings or other commitments to maximize the efficient use of administrative time.
    • Represents administrators as assigned in communications with staff parents the public and students to facilitate issue resolution provide accurate information and support effective program management.
    • Provides other related services as assigned.

    GENERAL PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
    • Perform duties in a courteous and efficient manner that builds the confidence of staff students and the public in the Corvallis School District and enhances learning.
    • Observe laws district policies and procedures and professional standards for the position.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school personnel parents students and the public; work collaboratively as a team member.
    • Maintain regular attendance at work and work activities and is punctual in meeting deadlines attending meetings and following schedule.
    • Carry out work responsibilities with strong organizational skills effectively under pressure of deadlines difficult situations interruptions and new or emergency conditions.
    • Respect confidential information and the privacy of students staff and parents.
    • Support students and staff in the districts career-related learning standards to encourage the development of independent work skills through career exploration and community involvement.
    • Develop job skills necessary to meet changes in the position.
    • Maintain personal appearance and hygiene appropriate to the position as defined by the district.
    • Meet applicable district physical ability/health and safety guidelines for the position.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Ability to understand and explain the building/programs instructional goals and carry out work assignments in a manner that supports those goals.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
    • Mastery of office equipment and technology.
    • Ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with individuals and groups of all ages which requires use of conflict resolution skills.
    • Ability to develop program budgets and provide oversight of expenditures within an established budget.
    • Ability to read and understand collective bargaining agreements policies administrative rules and related documents.
    • Ability to facilitate group activities/meetings.
    • Ability to independently plan organize and carry out work assignments and to plan and direct the work of assigned staff or students.
    • Ability to understand and implement the school/programs student discipline policy and to manage student behavior effectively outside a classroom setting.
    • Ability to effectively perform multiple simultaneous tasks with numerous interruptions.
    • Ability to obtain specialized training as required.
    • Ability to travel among district facilities as needed; if driving the ability to meet district driving standards.
    • Standard First Aid certification or the ability to obtain certification within two months of hire may be required.

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls.

    The employee is required to frequently walk (occasionally on an uneven surface) occasionally sit and reach with hands and arms (frequently reaching above the shoulder) stoop kneel or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
    While performing the duties of the position the employee works with standard office and or instructional equipment with moving mechanical parts. The employee frequently is required to use hands for fine and repetitive manipulation and required to sit for long periods of time. The employees work is almost exclusively indoors.

    The employee regularly is exposed to stress bodily fluids and infectious materials due to student or employee illness or injury. The employee may be exposed to blood borne pathogens.

    The employee regularly must lift move and/or carry 10 to 20 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance.
