Prevention Educator Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services

Salary:
$41731 - $45000
Basic Function:
Assists in the implementation of sexual and relationship violence prevention education programs awareness and training through the Center for Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services (SRVSS). Reports to the Director Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services.

Examples of Duties:
Duties/essential functions may include but not be limited to the following:
Assist with the coordinationand implementation of sexual and relationship violence prevention education and awareness programming for incoming (first-year transfer international and graduate) students before starting at Kent State during orientation programming Welcome Weekend and through their first semester at Kent State.
Assist in the implementation of a university-wide online prevention education module for students including coordinating timeline follow-up for completion and data collection.
Design deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of primary secondary and tertiary prevention education programs for all students faculty and staff.
Assist with implementing a peer education model to provide peer to peerleadership in the awareness and education of sexual and relationship violence and bystander action.
Provide assistance with the Kent State Stands Up messaging campaign to increase knowledge of power-based personal violence instill a Culture of Care and promote shared responsibility.
Coordinate an evidence-based & data-driven bystander engagement curriculum that aligns with the Kent State Stands Up movement.
Provide leadership for a team of volunteers who assist with bystander workshops campaign talks and events for the Kent State Stands Up movement.
Serve as a university and community expert for sexual and relationship violence prevention programming; encourage sensitivity and responsiveness to issues related to power-based personal violence and to underreported populations.
Supervise student staff to include student employees graduate assistants and student interns as needed.
Build and maintain relationships and collaborate with schools departments colleges and faculty members regarding education and university-recognized awareness programs.
Serve on various department division and University committees as a representative of SRVSS.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelors degree is required in a relevant field. Two years experience in community outreach health education public health project planning or related experience in higher education counseling social services or a comparable field. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Must be able to occasionally travel to regional campuses.

Power-based personal violence (sexual assault intimate partner violence and stalking) warning signs risk factors and consent *
Bystander skills training and community building *
Demonstrated awareness of intercultural relations and global perspectives *
Personal computer applications (i.e. MS Office Suite) *
Skill In:
Written and interpersonal communication *
Development and implementation of strategic planning initiatives *
Public speaking and group facilitation
Ability To:
Assist in providing vision leadership and direction to the community around violence prevention *
Organize and prioritize work with a high degree of initiative and independence *
Work collaboratively with university departments and academic units*
Work with constituents from diverse cultural backgrounds *
Possess considerable attention to detail and a high level of quality control*
Maintain a high customer focus with contacts
Multi-task while managing multiple projects and assignments to meet deadlines within budget *
Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent projects with ability to promote diversity *
Work as an effective change agent*
Communicate effectively with all components of the university (faculty staff and students) and external constituents *
Work a flexible schedule and occasionally travel out of state and overnight*
