Certified Clinical Medical Assistant- Full-time Specialty Clinic

Full-time position working in OB/GYN. This position is Tuesday-Friday. 2 days in Brookings 2 days in Gold Beach and 1 day per month in Port Orford.

Rates for this position: Non-certified $19.05 - $29.70 per hour depending on experience. Certification is paid for by Curry Health Network and adds $1.50 per hour added to your base rate.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Director of Primary Care Services the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) provides patient care that meets the psychosocial physical and general aspects of care in the office setting; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or physician. Maintains regulatory requirements nursing and office policies procedures and standards. Communicates with physicians and team members about patients clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provides direct patient care under the supervision of an RN/LPN/LVN and/or physician evaluates outcomes and consults with other health team members as required.

Ability to assist nursing and medical staff with routine examinations and patient treatments. Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain.

Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patients served.

Demonstrates the ability to assist physicians with procedures and perform services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of an RN/LPN/LVN and/or physician.

Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial cultural ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family.

Performs other duties as assigned or requested to support the overall needs of the department and in accordance with Curry Health Networks Mission Vision and Shared Values.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

High School graduate or equivalent is required.

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant through the National Healthcareers Association (CCMA) required. For those with at least 6 months of prior work experience as an MA or a certificate of completion from a Medical Assistant program CCMA certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment with CHN; for those with less than 6 months of experience as an MA CCMA certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment as an MA with CHN.

Current BLS certification is required.

Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program preferred.

Six months or more Medical Assistance experience preferred.

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook is required.

Good communication skills are required both verbally and in written form.

Excellent customer service skills are required.
