Personal Care Assistant (Medication Endorsed)

Williamstown Hostel - Williamstown VIC

Part Time Basis

  • Work with a rapidly growing not-for-profit organisation committed to social justice

  • Competitive base rates $32.97 to $38.49 p/hr (dependent on qualifications & experience)
  • Part Time Basis 5 Night shifts/ fortnight
  • Based at our Williamstown Hostel in Williamstown (VIC)

Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation. We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care housing and services. We employ more than 1000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania.

Your new role

We are currently seeking a proactive Personal Care Assistant (with the ability to administer medications) to join our friendly and dynamic residential team at our Williamstown Hostel on a Part Time basis. Bring your passion for well-being to our close-knit community fostering a warm and supportive environment for our residents. In this role youll have the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team contributing to the delivery of high-quality care. The fortnightly roster will be as below:

Week 1: Thursday ()

Week 2: Monday Thursday Saturday & Sunday ()

Your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Assisting residents with personal care including personal hygiene dressing grooming and other activities of daily living
  • To observe and report changes in residents behaviour or physical condition
  • To undertake medication management and treatment procedures as directed by the Residential Site Manager or person in charge
  • To liaise with medical practitioners pharmacists and other health services to provide relevant services for the care and wellbeing of the residents
  • Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs
  • Observing and reporting changes in residents behaviour or physical condition and maintain appropriate documentation as required
  • Providing emotional support to residents.

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Ability to work both in team and autonomously
  • Certificate III/IV in Aged Care/Individual Support
  • Completion of medication administration unit (HLTHPS006 - Assist Clients with Medication)
  • Prior experience in housing & homelessness support aged carewelfare disability support mental health orcommunity/home care
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to enhance or maintain our residents independence and lifestyle
  • A friendly and non-judgmental attitude
