What we want
Under general supervision Rural Medicine Program Coordinator works collaboratively with Rural Medicine leadership to coordinate plan develop and implement programs and activities within the undergraduate medical education Rural Medicine Program. This role provides administrative support to rural medicine course directors and faculty and serves as a liaison between education administration students faculty staff and clinical affiliate healthcare providers. This includes maintaining the scheduling database updating syllabi and communicating with students and workforce coordinators.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in education business communications
Two years of experience in program coordination/management rural healthcare administration or related areas
Preferred Qualifications
Five (5) years of experience in medical education or student services coordination
Higher education or medical education experience
Experience working with faculty staff and students
Experience managing and/or coordinating the delivery of medical curriculum and academic and student services
Proficiency in InDesign Canva Adobe Express Advanced Excel Microsoft Teams SharePoint and Zoom
Proficiency in Canvas or other learning management system (LMS) Blue OASIS or other scheduling and evaluation systems grade books and student dashboards
Experience with conference and event planning
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
Knowledge of word processing spreadsheet and database applications
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
Program Coordination
Serve as the central point of contact for faculty staff and rural medicine course/rotations/electives information.
Collaborate with campus coordinators course directors and elective directors to create review and renew rural medicine courses.
Collaborate with the Rural Medicine stakeholders and Program to identify train maintain rural sites and community physicians to participate in medical student courses/rotation/electives.
Manage the approval process for new courses and electives:
Maintain and update rural medicine syllabus templates.
Review and revise new rural courses and electives.
Guide new courses and electives through the approval process.
Communicate final status to stakeholders.
Develop and present training materials/sessions.
Work with campus/site leadership to ensure rural course offerings remain current meet student capacity and cover all needed disciplines.
Curriculum Coordination
Manage student schedules documentation evaluations and grades for Rural Medicine courses/rotations/electives using health education software.
Support course activities including preparation and presentation.
Assist with the coordination of educational conferences meetings lectures elective fairs and special events as directed by curriculum leadership.
Program Data Management
Maintain data in a searchable database.
Compile and monitor data program statistics and reports to assist in program evaluation.
Maintain and communicate policies and procedures for rural medicine stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with institutional and program accreditation requirements Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).
Coordinate and prepare materials for institutional accreditation.
Create and update rural medicine faculty appointments in faculty portal
Curriculum Implementation
Plan and implement rural medicine curriculum.
Provide support for course activities including orientation scheduling elective fairs and supplies.
Maintain confidentiality regarding FERPA and HIPAA documentation.
Develop maintain and liaise with community physicians clinical staff and affiliate partners including healthcare systems clinics and community organizations.
Manage community physicians relationships and serve as a liaison between faculty and administration.
