Salary Range:$28.00/hr | Hours per week: up to 32 hours per week |
Job Summary: This position organizes facilitates and coordinates all activities related to early childhood screening and provides necessary support with regard to Kindergarten transitions.
Responsibilities:
- Provides support and guidance to screeners regarding scoring equipment/materials etc.
- Make decisions as difficult situations arise during the screening session.
- Coordinate and schedule screenings.
- Utilize data from KIDSNET to stay current on screenings
- Coordinate and establish all aspects of a screening site including but not limited to transporting equipment test protocols and other related duties.
- Complete screenings and score packets.
- Review all screening packets upon completion of screening
- Maintain a list of children screened that need to be monitored and schedule follow-up screenings.
- Forward screening packets of OOD children screened to appropriate school districts.
- Send letters to parents with results.
- Responds to family questions regarding procedures etc.
- Follows script for explaining processes.
- Coordinates translation services as needed
- Maintain confidential database of children screened and:
- Track information required by RIDE
- Track children who do not attend any preschool/daycare.
- Schedule community screenings with parents/guardians
- Maintain screening records.
- Meet with the Early Childhood Coordinator weekly to review data dates etc.
- Forward screenings to the Early Childhood Coordinator when further evaluation is needed.
- Attend RIDE Trainings and Meetings as required and/or requested.
- Maintain a peer waiting list for Preschool classrooms.
- Cross Check provided screening list with K registrations
- Ability to collect relevant data and maintain records.
- Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Other related duties as assigned by Early Childhood Coordinator with approval from the Director of Pupil Personnel
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Knowledge of and experience in Child Outreach Program.
- Must demonstrate proficiency with Google Suite.
- Experience collaborating with local and state agencies.
- Education:
- Bachelor degree in a related field or 5 years of experience in early childhood and/or child outreach programs.
- Physical Requirements:
- Walk climb stairs bend and lift up to 45lbs
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must provide a current national background check without disqualifying results at time of hire.
