Job Description
The Janitor isresponsible for maintaining cleanliness inside and outside the building aswell as performing general maintenance and minor repairs. This role requiresflexibility to take on non-routine cleaning tasks and special projects asneeded.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Sweep mop and vacuumfloors.
- Clean windows andmirrors.
- Clean bathrooms andrestock supplies such as soap and toilet paper.
- Clean and sanitizekitchen areas.
- Dust surfacesthroughout the building.
- Empty trash and removewaste.
- Replace light bulbs asneeded.
- Report unsafeconditions or the need for repairs to supervisor.
- Clean spills and otherhazards using appropriate equipment.
- Organize and maintainjanitorial storage areas.
- Assist with setup andcleanup for special events.
- Maintain outdoor areassuch as the parking lot and break area by blowing grass removing debris andaddressing hazards.
EssentialSkills/Abilities
- Must understand andcommunicate in English for job-related instructions and safety.
- Ability to followinstructions accurately.
- Strong time managementskills to work efficiently.
- Capable of performingroutine maintenance on building systems.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous janitorial ormaintenance experience is required
Working Conditions andPhysical Requirements
- Exposure to varyingtemperatures including cold or extreme heat.
- Must be able to standwalk bend push/pull and reach overhead for extended periods.
- Must physically handleclimbing ladders bending or crawling in confined spaces.
-Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
