HEAD VARSITY GIRLS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD COACH
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- Must have experience or a desire to work in a diverse school district
- Advance knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
- Knowledge of MIAA rules
- Demonstrated ability to instruct and supervise student athletes
- Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Essential duties of this position include the following:
- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policy(ies) and
- Supports the success of all GNBVT sports
- Assists instruction and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement in girls indoor track & field.
- Manage and supervise athletic activities fundraisers contests and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills teamwork discipline respect and good sportsmanship.
- Supports the Athletic Departments initiative of character development within our student-
- Travels with student athletes on the team bus both to and from
- Maintains necessary records and completes required paperwork in a specified time manner for themselves and assistant coaches.
- Enforces discipline policies and emphasizes sportsmanship and healthy
- Supervises students in locker rooms after practices and at home/away games and ensures appropriate
- Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all
- Works with the athletic trainer to ensure that medical and safety requirements are
- Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students staff parents assistant coaches and officials and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
- Attends all required Including pre-season parent meeting end of season awards night and all league meetings for the girls indoor track & field program..
- Ensures that all assistant coaches work together toward a common goal within the girls indoor track & field program.
- Completes end of season evaluations for all assistant
- Works with the Coordinator of Athletics to maintain a current inventory of all fixed assets within the
- Appropriately maintains and secures confidential student records and
- Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with students parents community staff and the media
- Completes and maintains appropriate certifications as required including MIAA Coaches Certification
- Other duties may be assigned
