Position Summary:
The Filtration Design Engineer role based in Kansas City will be responsible for engaging with customers through site visits assessments and the development of tailored dust collection solutions. Key responsibilities include conducting site surveys preparing engineering reports creating CAD layouts and developing technical proposals for RFQs. The individual acts as a primary point of contact for clients facilitating clear communication and solution development. Additional duties encompass writing case studies supporting project implementation and providing post-installation support. The position requires extensive technical and sales experience in industrial dust filtration systems along with the ability to travel domestically and internationally primarily in a consultancy and solution-oriented capacity.
Work Youll Do:
Customer Site Visits(25% travel):
Travel to customer locations to assess current systems understand specific needs and evaluate opportunities for new installations or system upgrades.
Site Survey & Engineering Reports:
Analyze the customers current dust collection systems and provide in-depth engineering assessments.
Write detailed reports with actionable recommendations for system improvements or new installations.
CAD Design:
Use CAD software to create preliminary layouts for new dust collection systems ensuring they align with customer needs and space constraints.
Customer Communication & Solution Development:
Serve as the point of contact for customers leading discussions to understand their requirements and developing tailored solutions that meet those needs.
Technical Proposals & RFQs:
Work on customer RFQs (Request for Quotations) providing detailed technical proposals that outline system designs costs and timelines.
Case Studies:
Write case studies for specific dust collection applications and design solutions helping to promote and showcase your expertise.
After-Sales Support:
Collaborate with the project management team to ensure the smooth transition from design to installation and provide post-installation support when necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required; prefer degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Minimum 10 years filtration experience (technical and sales) in specifying quoting designing and selling filtration equipment to industrial markets.
Ability to travel 25-50% both domestic and international.
Strong technical knowledge of air filtration and dust collection systems used in industrial settings and how to apply it to meet customer requirements
