Job Description

Job Summary: The Night Custodial Lead will be responsible to mentor the night custodial team by performing oversight tasks of their duties. Is charged with promoting a safe healthful and pleasant school environment as it relates to the physical plant.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide one on one coaching support to each employee each week.
  • Attend bi-weekly team progress planning meeting with the Assistant Director of Custodians.
  • Obtain direct feedback from building administrators.
  • As a member of the custodial staff may as the occasion arises or as scheduled perform any or all duties of a custodian.
  • Participate in the interviewing and hiring of all custodians.
  • In consultation with the Assistant Director of Custodians Building Administrator and Day Custodial Lead develop a work schedule for all night custodians.
  • Assign personnel to cover night custodial absences.
  • Assign personnel to cover the building for scheduled activities pertaining to the school operation and non-school activities.
  • Assist with training and instructing new personnel in the performance of their duties.
  • Recommend to the Assistant Director of Custodians any necessary custodial supplies and equipment.
  • Supervise the use of all supplies tools and equipment assigned to the buildings.
  • Report all injuries and accidents immediately to the building administrator and complete the proper forms relating to the injury or to the accident.
  • See that all rules regulations and policies governing safety security and the use of facilities are enforced.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience in custodial services.
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate work schedules.
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Must be able to evaluate mentor coach and discipline employees.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of small machines including their care maintenance and repair.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel materials. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
