Job Description
Rate ranges from $27.48 to $30.50 per hour based on experience
2nd Shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)
Trans-Bridge Lines Inc. a family-run business celebrating its 84th year is currently seeking a full-time experienced mechanic. The company is accepting applicants from those with a career in the industry or those who have been a mechanic and would like to get into the busing industry.
Trans-Bridge Lines seeks individuals who possess a positive attitude accepts scheduling challenges and takes pride in their work.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform various mechanical repairs and maintenance on the Trans-Bridge Lines buses support vehicles and company cars.
- Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand basics of shop and service manuals.
- Must be able to provide own tools.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Punctual to work.
- Understand union environment and the need to be flexible due to seniority and business needs.
- Able and willing to work 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) to start. Shift may vary based on seniority and business need.
Education and Experience:
- Must have a valid drivers license.
- Diesel Mechanic experience strongly preferred.
- Diagnostic equipment knowledge preferred.
- CDL license preferred (required for 1st and 2nd Class Mechanic).
- Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) certification preferred
- PA and/or NJ State inspection license preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must pass drug and alcohol screenings and DOT physical exam.
- Be able to lift in excess of 75 pounds push and pull in excess of 100 pounds.
- Be able to stand bend squat twist turn and reach.
- Be able to have full use of fingers and hands.
- Must be open to shift work.
- Be able to work holidays and weekends when needed.
