Job Description

The Mill River Unified Union School District is seeking a talented educator to provide art instruction at our four elementary schools: Clarendon Elementary School Shrewsbury Mountain School Tinmouth Mountain School and Wallingford Elementary School. We seek a collaborative professional educator that can accomplish the following: 1. Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate art instruction to students in grades PK6 (or K5/6 depending on school structure).2. Foster creativity and artistic expression through lessons that explore various art forms techniques and cultural perspectives.3. Develop and implement standards-based curriculum aligned with district and state learning goals.4. Maintain a safe organized and engaging art classroom environment.5. Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of student work and growth.6. Display student artwork throughout the school and/or coordinate art exhibitions and events.7. Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists to integrate art across the curriculum.8. Participate in school-wide initiatives staff meetings and professional development opportunities.9. Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.10. Supervise students during class and designated school activities as assigned.11. Maintain inventory of art supplies and request materials as needed within budget guidelines.12. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Administration.
