About the Role

The Finance Manager will be partnering and supporting our project directors by providing financial reporting and analysis and forecasting for our maintenance and capital works within QLD.

Full-time opportunity with flexible work-arrangements this role will be based in our West End Brisbane office.

The role will suit an ambitious progressive and direct leader with demonstrable experience within the civil infrastructure and/or construction industry. The selected candidate will also demonstrate robust and persuasive verbal/written communication and engagement skills to build and manage strong relationships with multiple stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Lead a team in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger sub-ledgers and financial reporting systems in line with company policies and required timelines. This includes revenue recognition cost accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Monitor and optimise performance against targets including revenue EBITDA net working capital and operating cash flow.
  • Review contract valuation on capital projects and ensure its aligned with tender
  • Prepare analysis and reporting to meet internal and client financial reporting requirements and support decision-making. For example developing financial and operational Power BI dashboards monthly performance reviews (variance analysis) KPI data calculation and reporting.
  • Participate in regular contract reviews and provide insights into contract performance risk and opportunities and improvement initiatives.
  • Perform annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Collaborate with client contacts to resolve queries and complete deliverables in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the completion of end-to-end processes including purchase to pay order to cash recruit to onboard and payroll.
  • Lead and develop direct reports harnessing individual and team capabilities to deliver project outcomes.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in accounting
  • CPA qualification
  • 5 years in finance manager (or equivalent) experience
  • Demonstrated experience within Capital Works will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrate experience within the civil infrastructure or construction industry
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to manage maintain manipulate and analyse complex and large data sets.
  • Experience with SAP highly regarded
