The Commercial Excellence and Strategy Manager is a people manager role with a unique mix of overseeing our companys existing operational processes as well as transforming the organisation with strategic programs. You will be a key leader in the organisation who owns compliance and operation strategy and annual plan. In addition you will closely partner with Commercial Strategy and Operations Director (CSOD) and other members of the Commercial Leadership Team (CLT) including our companys ANZ Managing Director to ensure execution and realization of its long-term vision and strategy. It is a newly created role in ANZ as the organisation prepares itself for multiple new launches in coming years and to broaden its portfolio into new therapeutic areas. It is a management training role that will provide you with commercial strategy as well as operations experience which will be a gateway to prepare for senior leadership role such as heads of a business unit or a commercial function.

On the side of running the organisation you will be heading Business Process Officer team and gradually expand your remit to cover other areas of commercial operations. Such expansion of the role will be guided and informed by evolving business needs and enterprise strategic framework. On the side of changing the organisation your responsibilities will include co-creating milestones and tools to facilitate the execution of workstreams leading cross-functional discussions on our progress and addressing roadblocks and trade-offs the company may encounter along the way.

This position collaborates closely with the Managing Director and our companys ANZ commercial leadership team Legal and Compliance and regional Commercial Operations team. It is a highly strategic and influencing role with many opportunities to interact with the country leadership team with the aim of enabling the organisation to drive compliant and effective commercial operations. We are seeking a dynamic individual with sound experience in Business Compliance or Commercial Operations area with a growth mindset and drive to inspire others.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Commercial Operations

  • Establish and implement compliance and operations strategy and annual plan
  • Lead train and develop Business Practice Officer (BPO) and event management team as people manager
  • Drive compliance culture within the organisation as strategic enabler for our reputation and license to operate
  • Identify new operational capabilities required for the future and upskill and train the team
  • Partner with Digital Data and Analytics team to enhance sales performance tracking and market intelligence
  • Participate in key regional in-country leadership meetings as CSODs deputy

Enterprise Strategy

  • In partnership with CSOD develop and evolve strategy realization framework to ensure execution of Vision 2029 companys long-term strategy
  • Influence the organisation to keep the right balance between delivering short term priorities with longer term strategic view by partnering with CSOD on leading key internal meetings
  • Seek new opportunities and risks related to companys strategic vision and escalate for CLT discussion. Bring new ideas to table

  • Passion for Enterprise Success: A strong commitment to prioritize enterprise success over teams success

What You Must Have

Essential

  • University degree (preferably in business accounting pharmacy law or administration)
  • Relevant experience in commercial operations marketing medical compliance or legal
  • Proven project management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within a matrixed organisation

Desired

  • Background in audit or formal training in compliance ethics or related disciplines
  • Experience in business compliance or ethics ideally within the pharmaceutical industry
