Job Description
Due to growth a well-established corporate service provider covering a plethora of industries urgently needs an Accountant to join their team. As an Accountant you will be reporting to the Reporting to the Manager of the Tax Department you will be entrusted with a select portfolio of clients where you will be expected to manage build and mentor junior team members.
Salary up to 35k depending on experience.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Managing client accounts including audits VAT returns and ensuring statutory deadlines are met
- Overseeing junior team members reviewing their work assisting with technical queries and ensuring tasks are completed on time
- Collaborating with management to improve accounting services and compliance monitoring
- Reviewing financial statements VAT returns and addressing complex disclosures
- Mentoring and supporting junior staff through regular check-ins feedback and training
- Promoting best practices identifying training needs and coordinating learning sessions
- Assisting in writing industry-related articles for the company website
- Liaising with internal departments to gather documentation for financial statements and statutory returns
- Reporting significant accounting issues and ensuring compliance with deadlines
- Attending client meetings and supporting junior staff in client interactions
Education Skills & Experience:
- Qualified Accountant
- 2 experience in a client accounting environment preferably in Malta
- Fluency in English at a C2 or native level both written and spoken
- Proficiency in using MS excel Outlook and Word as well as SAGE
- Highly organized able to manage multiple tasks prioritize effectively and work both independently and in a team
- Confident in client accounting VAT and related areas with a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
- Eager to learn adaptable to different industries and thrives in a dynamic team-oriented environment
- Self-motivated detail-oriented and proactive in approach
About this role:
- Hybrid-remote in Swatar with longer weekends - Fridays the office closes at 14:00
