Job Summary
The District-Wide Program Assistant supports the Supervisor of Student Services Director of Special Education and school administrators in PreK-12 grade providing educational leadership and operational oversight for the districts self-contained Special Education CDC classrooms and Alternative School programs. This role assists in implementing program-wide policies supporting student discipline and attendance coordinating staff ensuring student and staff safety and fostering a structured supportive environment that promotes student growth engagement and well-being.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

- Defines refines and documents program models for existing Comprehensive Development Classrooms (CDC) the Alternative School and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) programming across PreK12 ensuring alignment with district goals state guidance and best practices.
- Oversees the district-wide implementation of CDC Alternative and ASD programs ensuring fidelity consistency and responsiveness to student needs in collaboration with Behavior Interventionists BCBAs and school-based teams.
- Evaluates and improves existing program structures providing strategic recommendations to support inclusive developmentally appropriate and evidence-based practices.
- Collaborates with families teachers and administrators to ensure clear communication equitable access and shared understanding of program goals implementation and student support.
- Serves as the LEA representative in IEP and eligibility meetings for CDC and Alternative School students supporting service scheduling IEP fidelity and accommodation monitoring.
- Coordinates behavior support systems including development of BIPs conducting and supporting FBAs analyzing behavior data responding to crises and completing required documentation.
- Supports academic and behavioral success of students in the Alternative School through direct intervention re-entry planning and coordination of services.
- Promotes instructional consistency by supporting the use of aligned strategies visuals routines and assistive technology across CDC classrooms; models implementation and provides coaching to staff.
- Collaborate with school administrators to develop and maintain schedules for educational assistants for inclusion support related services and special transportation; maintains communication and service logs.
- Monitors attendance and behavior data follows up on chronic absenteeism referrals and incidents across settings and collaborates with staff and families on intervention strategies.
- Supports placement and staffing decisions collaborating with principals to develop class rosters ensure appropriate student placement and maintain classroom balance.
- Provides guidance to educational assistants and student teachers coordinates professional learning opportunities and participates in regular check-ins with administrators to ensure high-quality program support.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to support student success and program operations.
Minimum Education and Experience
- A masters degree in education or a closely related field and three (3) years of successful teaching experience.
