Essential Functions
Implement and grow a long-range plan to promote and solicit bequests trusts and other planned/deferred gifts that is coordinated with and complementary to other activities of the overall Development function. Pursue planned gift leads cultivate prospects and donors prepare proposals and solicit planned gifts. Steward existing planned gifts and donors including providing annual updates and maintaining regular contact with bequest donors as appropriate. Meet explicit annual performance objectives including the completion of personal face-to-face visits with assigned prospects and donors solicitation goals and gift closure goals with an associated number of other actions (phone calls emails personal notes). Prepare written proposals informational materials endowment agreements gift illustrations and any other materials needed to secure planned gifts. Train advancement colleagues in identifying planned giving prospects and help colleagues with cultivation and solicitation strategies. Coordinate cultivation activities and solicitations with others including senior leaders advancement colleagues key faculty and volunteers as appropriate. Participate in the prospect tracking and moves management process in alignment with established procedures and protocols through reporting on results documentation of strategies and participation in prospect strategy meetings. Develop succinct but strategic briefing materials in support of the work of college leaders and partners in cultivation solicitation and stewardship efforts associated with prospects and donors. Develop and implement components of a planned giving circle that cultivates and stewards estate and planned gifts. Envision and in coordination with advancement staff create regular mailings advertising and other promotional activities to generate leads. Prepare and present planned giving presentations and proposals to prospects colleagues boards donors etc. as appropriate. Maintain and provide content to update the planned giving web page. Track planned gift prospects for ongoing long-term cultivation. Participate as a member of the Advancement team to coordinate solicitation of prospects. Develop collaborative relationships with other planned giving and allied professionals such as financial planners and advisors attorneys and bankers from prospect/donor referrals and via local planned giving professional affiliations. Review and monitor gift acceptance policies and procedures of the Foundation and the College. Participate in other fundraising activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. Four years of successful experience with fund raising wealth management or other comparable field.
