KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
medication orders on time to progress the patients plan of care.
2. Is responsible for own and other team members adherence to regulatory guidelines and ThedaCare policies.
3. Follows current policies and regulations around preparation of sterile compounded products.
4. Under the direction of the pharmacist the pharmacy technician carries out delegated tasks to adhere to five rights--right patient right medication right dose right route and the right frequency--to prepare pharmaceutical products accurately adhering to established guidelines.
5. Completes documentation on time and in compliance with organizational state and federal statutes regulations and policies relating to the record keeping requirements of pharmaceutical handling.
6. Obtains an accurate admission medication history necessary for the patient care teams initial assessment by assessing the patients ability to participate in a face-to-face interview and applies knowledge of medications to ensure list of medications are complete where applicable.
7. Implements quality measures into product preparation storage security and delivery and when compiling an accurate patient medication history.
8. Responds to patient-related queries and directs them to pharmacists for clarification on issues concerning drug information and interactions.
9. Performs routine maintenance/activities necessary to ensure equipment is in good condition.

Normally works in climate controlled office environment
Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments
Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock
Possible exposure to communicable diseases hazardous materials and pharmacological agents
Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients Use of computers throughout the work day
Frequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands wrists and fingers
