Whats the role
As a Data Engineer you will play a key role in supporting the design development and maintenance of data solutions that drive business insights. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications assist in building scalable data pipelines and contribute to testing and release processes. This role is well-suited for someone with a solid foundation in data engineering and a strong desire to learn and grow in a dynamic technology environment.
With Westpacs data platforms moving into deploying AI Agents this is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience and grow your career in an AI-enabled engineering landscape. This position is open to candidates based in Sydney Melbourne and Brisbane.
What do I need
- Basic understanding of data engineering concepts tools and languages (e.g. SQL Python Spark).
- Minimum 2 years of software development experience.
- Bachelors degree in any related field.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure GCP) is a plus.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with data integration and ETL tools would be advantageous.
