Senior Buyer
OTTOs opportunity:
OurSenior Buyer is responsible for all purchasing of material equipment and supplies.
Specifically the Senior Buyer will:
- Be a member of major project teams
- Obtain quotations prepare and place purchase orders in a group or groups of commodities material supplies and equipment
- Customer liaison for Defective Material Reporting
- Conduct Vendor Audits and provide constructive feedback
- Responsible for managing vendor base
- Determine proper sources of supply for most economical purchases
- Locate new sources of supplies as necessary
- Support Engineering in the development of new products and/or new vendors
- Expedite deliveries as necessary to meet production schedules
- Maintain or improve purchase costs relative to the established standards
- Recommend policies and procedures for purchasing functions
- Maintain vendor information in the database
- Familiar with MRP Purchasing
- Control of inventory levels for assigned commodities
- Negotiate major contracts
- Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) as needed including developing and processing Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and assisting in part analysis
- Assist with other related duties as required or assigned
What youll need to bring to the table:
- Minimum 5 years related experience required
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Availability for nonstandard or extended work schedule
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of personal computers
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Requires having the technical ability to learn quickly and being capable of applying this knowledge towards new engineering concepts
- Background in project management
- Requires self-motivation and ability to complete objectives
- Pleasant and helpful telephone manner
- Detail oriented
- General knowledge of ISO 9000
- C.P.M. Preferred
What OTTO offers for this specific position:
The hiring range listed in this posting is what we in good faith anticipate relying on when confirming a base salary for this position; exceptions may be considered for highly experienced candidates with multiple years of at-level experience.
- Target base salary hiring range: $75000 to $90000 based on qualifications and experience.
- Profit Sharing Bonus - OTTO believes that its fair to share the profits that the employees help to make; profit sharing is distributed to employees twice a year. OTTOs profit sharing plan is paid at the discretion of the company and is not a guaranteed bonus or any part of a compensation plan.
- Vacation: 120 hours - vacation time is earned on the anniversary date.
