The Franklin Public Schools a Prek-12 district is seeking a skilled and experienced Special Education Team Chair to work Lincoln Street 3-5Elementary Duties and Responsibilities:-Manage the special education process and required paperwork from beginning to end -Ensure that all mandated timelines are met with respect to special education process-Adhere to district special education process and procedures -Chair IEP meetings and assist staff in developing comprehensive IEPs-Provide building-based leadership for special education matters-Provide training as needed to colleagues on topics of special education-Work collaboratively with building-based special education team and general education staff-Work closely with building and district administration as well as district team chairs to ensure appropriate programming and services on behalf of students with disabilities-Utilize and model a data-driven decision-making process-Facilitate manifestation determination meetings-Provide outreach and support to parents throughout the team process and thereafter -Serve as liaison with agencies on behalf of students with disabilities as needed Qualifications:- Masters degree in special education or related field required-Familiarity with curriculum standards and elementary school programming-Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations -Successful public school experience as Team Chair -Able to take initiative and work independently -Excellent communication skills-Knowledge of assessment and research-based interventions -Knowledge of research-based interventions and strategies for students with disabilities-Demonstrated leadership capacity
