Job Description

Function: To assist general and special education staff in the eligibility and re-evaluation process for special education services. To assist in the development of initial Individual Education Programs in conjunction with other providers fro students who qualify for special education services..Duties and Responsibilities:Active participation in eligibility and IEP team meetings as & score educational testing with report development for new referrals for special education services as well as 3 year re-evaluations directed by the Director of Special Education or classroom observations and interviews with general education teachers to accompany educational classroom observations and interviews with general education teachers to accompany educational accurate records for district and state reporting and complete appropriate special education records & Medicaid with administrators teachers and parents regarding student participation as required in scheduled IEP meetings for initial IEP of students who qualify for as or assist LEA/Chair of the IEP in the development of initial IEP for students who are found eligible in accordance with state with general and special education staff on modifications and accommodations of identified other professional staff in resolving the unique educational psychological and/or behavior and discipline needs of training to other special educators on administering and scoring educational evaluations writing educational reports and navigating / operating EASY to policies of confidentiality and use discretion regarding pupil in in-service professional development provided by the Woonsocket Education Department and self-selected professional growth activities. Perform any other duties determined by the Director of Special Education.Required Qualifications:Valid RI Special Educator and General Educator Teaching of 5 years of successful teaching in special possess extensive knowledge of Federal and State Regulations Special Education processes and to work independently with minimal supervision and ability to collaborate and work effectively with all to maintain effective communications with classroom teachers in support of student achievement and to relate with students parents and staff members.
