Job Description

Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Supervisor Payment Acceptance and Processing based in Salt Lake City UT. In this role you will oversee the day-to-day operations supporting our customers with retail card-present payment acceptance across the HF Sinclair network. This includes ensuring the accurate timely and compliant processing of Visa Mastercard Amex Discover fleet and other primarily card-based transactions. Youll serve as a key partner in maintaining operational efficiency and work closely with the Point-of-Sale (POS) Technical Support Supervisor and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive improvements related to credit debit and fleet card payment acceptance.

Please note: This is not an Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable role. We are specifically seeking candidates with direct hands-on experience in B2C and fleet-based retail card-present payment acceptance within a merchant or multi-site retail environment.

Job Duties

  • Supervise daily payment operations including transaction processing settlement and issue resolution.
  • Supervise Chargeback Desk activities overseeing receipt investigation customer billing and adherence to card brand regulations.
  • Supervise activities of the Payments Operations Support team including customer setups billing coordination inquiry resolution and data accuracy.
  • Partner with the POS Technical Support Supervisor to ensure coordinated resolution of payment-related system issues.
  • Collaborate with banks payment processors and vendors to resolve day to day operational and technical issues.
  • Recommend and implement process enhancements to increase operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Support payment-related initiatives including vendor engagements system updates and feature testing.
  • In conjunction with the GM-Payments serve as a SME in payments acceptance to the larger organization.

Experience

  • Minimum 5years of experience in payment acceptance chargebacks or related financial operations.
  • POS hardware and software systems experience particularly those in the petroleum space.
  • Strong knowledge of payment processing chargebacks and card brand rules.
  • Familiarity with end-to-end payment lifecycle: authorization settlement reconciliation and exceptions.

Preferred Experience
Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.

Education Level

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Finance Information Systems or a related field; OR 5years experiencein B2B or B2C payment processing may be considered in place of formal education.

Required Skills

  • Excellent analytical organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Experience with Salesforce andSAP.
  • Ability to manage day-to-day priorities while developing team members.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with processor/vendor platforms.
  • B2B or B2C payment processing experience.
  • Petroleum or convenience store payment acceptance experience.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Direct supervision of a Chargeback Analyst and a Payments Operations Supports Specialist.

Work Conditions

  • Initial onboarding will require in-office presence 5 days a week.
  • Hybrid work schedule (3-4 days in office) available after training period.
  • Upto 20% travel may be required.
