Data Center Decommissioning Technician

Are you a technical professional interested in joining an elite team and learning the skills necessary to maintain one of the worlds largest information system infrastructures We are currently expanding our infrastructure team and are looking for Rack Decommissioning (Rack Decom) Data Technician.

As part of the Rack Decom team you will be responsible for processing and facilitating legacy Data Center equipment through a liquidation process to ensure that targeted equipment is ready to be removed off premises. You will also process large volumes of customer data to ensure that all customer data is sanitized and properly managed.

You will develop familiarity with basic PC components/hardware (HDD/SSD/Flash/Removable storage media/Ram/CPU/Motherboard/Input-Output devices)

You will be working in a team environment not only with other members of the team but also from other teams and must be able to communicate and promote cross-team functionality.

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS)

Key job responsibilities
Safety:
- Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture.

Rack Decom Operations:
- Decommissioning and processing of legacy hardware out of the data center facilities
- Hard drive installation removal and destruction
- Troubleshooting events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Basic Networking equipment removal/installation and clearing of configurations.
- Interact with third party vendors & contractors
- Manual handling and lifting of equipment (weight limits in accordance with regulations)

- Are 18 years of age or older
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
- Knowledge of computer hardware components at the enterprise server level and operating systems


- Experience with basic Networking equipment removal/installation and clearing of configurations
