You are a college graduate with at least a few years of professional or related work experience in a college setting (ideally in an admission office). You have a passion for building relationships and helping people and look forward to managing a recruitment territory. You are comfortable with presenting to and meeting with audiences of all sizes both in-person and virtually. You enjoy traveling appreciate the opportunity to work on a college campus and you believe in the benefits of a college education specifically one attained at a small private liberal-arts university and are eager to help guide others in realizing this opportunity. You are a skilled collaborator an excellent multitasker and have mastered the skill of being detail-oriented. Your customer service skills are top-notch and you are an avid and calm problem-solver.
Job Summary:
The Office of Admission at Ohio Wesleyan University (OWU) invites applications for an Assistant Director of Admission who will share responsibility for active recruitment and enrollment of a nationwide pool of students in an assigned geographic territory. The successful candidate will possess strong communication management and organizational skills and be willing to travel up to 8-10 weeks a year.This is a full-time salaried position with benefits. Weekend and evening work will be required. This individual reports to the Senior Associate Director of Admission and will be based on campus in Delaware OH.
Responsibilities and Duties:
To thrive in this role the Assistant Director of Admission will:
Foster build and maintain relationships with constituents (prospective students and families along with school and independent counselors) in an assigned territory
Educate those constituents about Ohio Wesleyan
Engage with them through direct communication
Review and evaluate applications for admission and scholarship programs in a timely manner.
As an Assistant Director you will participate in in-person and virtual on- and off-campus recruitment events (Open House events admitted student receptions etc.)
Assistant Directors typically manage one or two substantial projects outside of the territory management responsibilities. Examples include things like Athletics Liaison Tour Guide Program Manager Overnight Host Coordinator etc.
Factors Contributing to Success:
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution with at least 2 years of admission or related experience. Because of the travel requirement a valid drivers license and ability to drive is also required.
Technical proficiencies in Google products video conferencing software and higher education CRMs (preferably Slate) are highly desired.
