Substitute Nutrition Services Delivery Driver
Position Summary
The role of a Nutrition Services Delivery Driver is to provide in a safe manner timely delivery and pick up services to the District.
Job Title: Substitute Nutrition Services Delivery Driver
Hourly Wage:$14.65/hr.
Reports To:Nutrition Services Coordinator
Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED
- Valid Drivers Licensewith a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- School food service experience of at least three-years preferred.
- ServSafe Certification or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in with maintaining records including but not limited to: production invoices and inventory preferred.
Driving Background Check:
- Candidates must undergo adriving background checkto ensure compliance with company safety standards.
- Requirementsfor passing the background check include:
- A valid unexpired drivers license.
- A clean driving record with no major violations.
Essential Functions
- Proper operation of transport truck to insure safety of food equipment personnel and students.
- Loads and unloads all items being sent to transport schools quickly and in a sanitary manner.
- Correctly stores food items in storerooms refrigerators and freezers.
- Brings grocery orders from storage being sure to rotate food on first in first out basis.
- Performs the major cleaning of all food service floors
- Receives shipments when the food service manager is gone and checks for accuracy of orders.
- Knowledge of proper methods for lifting and doing moderately heavy manual work.
- Ability to exert 75 to 100 pounds of force frequently to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to efficiently and effectively work under a structured schedule without close supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with others.
- Knowledge of routine delivery practices.
- Basic math and English usage and literacy.
- Learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards.
- Maintain regular and prompt attendance in the workplace.
- Basic computer skills required for maintaining appropriate records reading Email using MS Office programs.
- Load secure unload and deliver finished work equipment maintenance and nutrition supplies.
- Perform daily safety inspection of vehicle and operate vehicle to and from school sites public offices and vendor locations obeying traffic laws and observing defensive driving practices; wash and fuel vehicles.
- Establish and follow routes and maps to various locations.
- Fill warehouse stock requisitions and complete related forms.
- Assists in physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses.
- Utilize proper methods for security of district property including vehicles and contents.
- Assists other personnel as may be required for supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Maintains and updates maintenance log for delivery vehicle (e.g. checking fluid levels fueling cleaning etc.) for the purpose of ensuring safe operation of vehicle.
- Reports all non-working equipment to maintenance for repair or replacement.
- Performs such other duties as assigned.
Working Environment
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
The usual and customary methods of performing the position functions require the following physical demands: lifting carrying pushing pulling climbing reaching driving standing and walking. This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment. This position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Working conditions may include extreme temperatures and humidity. Hazards may include exposure to communicable diseases. This position requires one to maintain emotional control under stress.
