Mid-Level Software Developer

Title:

KBR is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer/Application Developer in Carlsbad CA for long-term employment to develop breakthrough products and innovative software applications for government and commercial customers. As a software engineer you work individually or on a small team developing software to work geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) and motion GEOINT including electro-optical (EO; visible spectrum) and infrared (IR) imagery imagery intelligence (IMINT) geospatial information full motion video (FMV) moving target indication (MTI) wide area motion imagery (WAMI) hyperspectral imagery (HIS) and light detection and ranging (LIDAR). Many of our projects have an immediate impact on national security leaders decision-making options. We need engineers who can work with full-stack development teams and handle all aspects of feature development. Opportunity for hybrid work is available with 1-2 days in the Carlsbad office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with a team lead to define software requirements
• Design & develop system software for our customers
• Explore new areas or program in new languages to deliver a complete product
• Support on-site meetings and deliveries to customers
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve customer and company goals

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Clearance & Citizenship: MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN. Must have the ability to obtain & maintain a Security Clearance.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of software development and object-oriented design and programming including design coding and testing experience

Education: Bachelors degreein Computer Science Engineering or related discipline

Technical Acumen:

• Experience with Web Services and JavaScript (e.g. ReactJS)
• Hands-on experience with Java JavaScript and C/C

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with Postgres and MySQL
• AWS and Azure experience
• Familiarity with Agile and/or DevSecOps procedures
• Security or CISSP certification
• Software Tester / Quality Assurance Specialist (with >2 years of experience in software testing and >1 year of experience in software quality assurance).
• DevOps Engineer (with >4 years of experience in configuration control testing security automation containerization orchestration and cloud services open source technologies)
• Contractor Product Owner (with >2 years of experience in software management and managing a backlog of requirements)

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week

Basic Compensation: $103000-$150000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates location knowledge skills abilities and/or experience contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses commissions or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation.
