Job Title: Coordinator for ELAR Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Reports to: Executive Director of Academics Pay Grade: Admin Pay 5

Primary Purpose: Support the districts mission to ensure academic success by designing implementing and supporting a rigorous and aligned Reading Language Arts (RLA) program. Provide instructional leadership and direct support to teachers and campus instructional staff to improve student achievement in literacy.

*Knowledge of RLA TEKS curriculum design and assessment practices
Understanding of research-based instructional strategies in literacy
Experience supporting teachers through coaching training and professional development
Ability to analyze student achievement data to inform instruction
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills

Instructional and Program Support:
Design and revise curriculum documents aligned to RLA TEKS and district goals
Facilitate the development and review of districtwide RLA assessments
Collaborate with teachers and instructional leaders to support implementation of academic materials
Support literacy initiatives and model effective instructional strategies through coaching cycles and classroom demonstrations
Assist in the planning and delivery of campus-based PLCs and job-embedded learning
Provide differentiated support to campuses based on student achievement data and academic needs
Participate in the evaluation and selection of instructional materials resources and digital tools for RLA
Lead and/or support literacy-related events competitions and student activities
Plan and deliver targeted professional development for RLA teachers and campus leaders
Develop resources and training aligned with district initiatives and the district academic framework
Provide guidance and support to campus and teacher leaders
Participate in new teacher orientation and mentor support systems
Support the integration of evidence-based literacy interventions aligned to MTSS frameworks and HB1416 across all tiers of instruction
Assist campuses in implementing RLA intervention strategies within the MTSS Data-Driven Decision-Making Model including progress monitoring practices for student support plans
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with district coordinators specialists and campus staff to ensure aligned curriculum and instruction
Participate in regular meetings with the Director of Academics and content team
Communicate regularly with campuses regarding curriculum updates professional development and resources
Partner with Special Education Bilingual/ESL Advanced Academics and other departments to support all learners
Monitor curriculum implementation and collect teacher feedback to inform revisions
Use student performance data to assess program effectiveness and recommend academic adjustments
Assist in the development and progress monitoring of literacy goals tied to the District Improvement Plan
Collaborate with the district MTSS Coordinator to align literacy instruction interventions and resources with MTSS frameworks and HB 1416 requirements
