Job Description

The Event Service Manager under direction manages centralized conference services. Serves as point of contact for meetings events training sessions conferences and special events.

This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.


Responsibilities:

  • Manages event services including reservations Service deliveries billing and post-event evaluations.

  • Develops and oversees unit budgets.

  • Develops manages and oversees facilities and event calendars.

  • Negotiates costs and develops contracts with clients.

  • Administers insurance documents and waivers of liability. Develops event -related policies and procedures and oversees reporting to university and external clients.

  • Manages assigned staff.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Five years of related experience.

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Special Requirements:

  • Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelors degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of nine years of experience.
