School Psychologists are responsible for consultation anddirect counseling services program evaluation specific assessments andcollaboration with various school teams.
Services
Provide supportive mental health counselingservices to targeted IEP students and student groups.
Serve as a resource to staff to interpretpsychological data as it relates to academic and behavioral needs.
Lead the Functional Behavior Assessment processand threat assessment process in assigned buildings.
Participate in school district RTI teams asrequested and assist with the facilitation and documentation of research-basedmethods for academic and behavioral supports.
Share pertinent evaluation/observationinformation with parents students staff and agencies as appropriate.
Guards against conflicts of professionalinterest and provides services which hold the well-being of each student paramount.
Plans evidence-based interventions appropriatefor individual students and groups of students.
ScreensTests Diagnoses and Collaborates
Determine students strengths and needs to theIEP development for students.
Write behavior plans in conjunction with otherpertinent team members (e.g. education staff and parents) and assist withbehavior interventions when deemed appropriate.
Document services provided and monitor studentprogress.
Assist IEP teams with the development andimplementation of IEPs .
Administer score and interpret necessaryassessments to assist in determining disabling conditions and/or programmingfor students according to State and Federal Regulations and according to SummitSchool District policies and procedures including written documentation forvarious stakeholders.
Provide ongoing consultation to staff regardingstudent and classroom needs.
