Job DescriptionTitle:Lunch/Recess MonitorReports To: PrincipalEvaluated By: PrincipalPosition Function/Job Purpose: Ensures a safe pleasant and effective atmosphere during the lunch and recess periods. Enforces school policy and behavior management practices. Qualifications:Experience working with elementary aged to support the schools mission and vision. Ability to maintain student confidentiality. The successful candidate will have:Skills to manage students during lunch and recess periods. Knowledge of conflict resolution and the schools policy and procedures around student behavior. Dispositions include providing consistent fair and policy-based direction to students; maintain confidential and sensitive information; communicate effectively with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds; communicate in oral and written Job Functions and ResponsibilitiesSupervises lunch and recess periods. Establishes and maintains a positive climate during in principals staff meetings and such other meetings as are required or the Teachers and/or Principal informed of issues that may arise during lunch or confidentiality of all student information. Follows the school-wide behavior other duties as assigned by the Environment: Be able to work in a close environmentBe able to work in moderately noisy environmentBe able to handle frequent interruptionsPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift 25 physically and emotionally capable of carrying-out responsibilities and duties in a busy computerized environment. This position requires hand/wrist movement as in writing or using a computer keyboard/mouse and moderate to frequent exertion in body movements such as reaching bending and requirements include the ability to read routine and complex documents and to use a computer.
