Job Description
A percussion instructor teaches students the fundamentals and advanced concepts of playing drums cymbals and other percussive musical instruments. The percussion section also called the drumline helps players in a marching band keep in time with one another on the field.
ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS:
- Shall demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students peers. and adults
- Shall demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students parents and faculty.
- Shall hold all certificates required by Kentucky law.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Shall have the ability to sit stoop possibly lift up to 50 pounds or more any and all body movements as related to the job description.
JOB GOAL:
To advance individual capabilities; to motivate all students and to create leadership opportunities through the use of technology.
GENERAL DUTIES and PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shall determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines.
- Shall present a positive image of the school to parents and convey to them the schools genuine concern with the education growth and development of each student.
- Shall seek to establish friendly and cooperative partnerships between home and school.
- Shall work to develop a positive public relationship between the school district and the community.
- Shall carry out assignments in a timely manner without unduechecking.
- Shall react positively to directives.
- Shall have a willingness to cooperate with the superintendent district administrators principals and staff.
- Shall maintain the confidentiality both verbally and in written form of each students educational record.
- Shall strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Shall take necessary precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Shall understand model and implement the board policy code of ethics to all students and fellow colleagues.
- Shall adhere to School Board of Education Policies and Procedures.
SPECIFIC DUTIES and PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shall provide leadership to an organized group with an established leadership plan.
- Shall advise officers on monthly agendas and agenda items.
- Shall supervise all fund-raising activities.
- Shall keep accurate records on budget expenditures.
- Shall assist students with any and all competitions.
- Shall prepare a detailed annual report highlighting the activity accomplishments awards participation levels and recommendations for improvement.
- Shall actively recruit members.
- Shall support the school district and the respective schools activities philosophies.
- Shall be responsible for supervising students on out-of-town activities. This may involve staying overnight.
- Shall have knowledge of CPR and First Aid.
- Shall be knowledgeable of blood borne pathogens and other infectious materials and the procedures of dealing with them.
- Shall promote and directly work toward academic achievement during the high school career and serve as a liaison for post-secondary scholarships and other financial incentives.
- Shall perform other duties related to the position as assigned by the supervisor.
DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT:extra service duties
SALARY:Commensurate with the school districts salary schedule for supplemental work. Salary is based on the specific title of the assigned Increment position.
