The Department of Biology at Colorado State University Pueblo is one of the largest departments on campus and is recognized for its excellence in both teaching and research activities. We provide bachelors degrees in Biology and Wildlife and a masters degree in Biology. Additionally the department offers many service courses to other programs on campus who offer degrees in Exercise Science Nursing and Health Sciences. The Department of Biology has eight tenured faculty a senior lecturer two adjunct instructors and several graduate teaching assistants. Facilities include updated classrooms an impressive set of shared research instrumentation and a modern Anatomy and Physiology suite that features Anatomage dissecting tables.
The Biology Department is part of the STEM college and is highly integrated with other Departments in the College including Chemistry Mathematics and Engineering. Colorado State University Pueblo is located in the heart of Southern Colorado in a community shaped by various cultural traditions with rich historical roots and many opportunities for outdoor activities. Located near the cities of Colorado Springs and Denver Pueblo is also near two national parks and a nationally recognized state park among other amenities.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate lectures and laboratory courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology to Nursing Health Sciences Exercise Sciences Biology major and minor and other students. In addition this position includes responsibility for mentoring graduate teaching assistants and tutors for these courses. This position involves working in a collaborative group to develop and deliver these courses under the leadership of tenured faculty. Use of the Anatomage digital dissecting table is required (training available) and participation in department college and university service activities is expected.
Primary Duties
Delivery of Human Anatomy and Physiology lecture and laboratory courses including preparing and presenting lecture and laboratory materials administering appropriate tests; evaluating student outcomes; selecting and ordering texts; preparing administering and grading assignments; and assigning final grades. It will also include coordinating mentoring and training of laboratory teaching assistants and tutors and participating in curriculum development and program modifications when appropriate.
Contributing to student growth and development through advising and career guidance. This requires the faculty member to establish post and communicate to students at least five regularly scheduled office hours weekly. Participating in department meetings and workshops. Participating in campus meetings university functions and other duties as assigned. Participating in outreach events including tours and demonstrations of the Anatomy and Physiology facilities.

$49800 to $57200
