CURRENT VACANCY INFORMATION
The Department of Administrative & Financial Services has one current vacancy for a Human Resources Assistant. This position will support the Corrections Service Center in the Payroll Division located in Augusta Maine.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Human Resources Assistant you will be responsible for processing human resources transactions and payroll for the Maine Department of Corrections. Work requires the application of varying complex payroll rules as described in six collective bargaining agreements State and Federal Labor Laws related to employee pay and Civil Service rules and laws. Additionally this position will interpret and explain contract provisions and perform other human resource functions as needed.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
wages and/or deductions and enters information into payroll system.
other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
ensuring all appropriate policies and procedures have been met.
collective bargaining contract provisions to employees and supervisors.
processing paperwork and related human resources transactions.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will possess the following:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education training and/or experience which provides a basic knowledge and understanding of human resource functions.
