Title: Head Football Coach/Physical Education Teacher

Reports To: Principal Athletic Director Superintendent and/or Superintendents Designee
Job Goal:
To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship and an increased level of self-esteem.
Performance Responsibilities:
PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER
- Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.
- Diagnose and evaluate student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of the students.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Effectly implement district initiatives.
- Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers if/when needed.
HEAD FOOTBALL COACH
- Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sports involved.
- Plan and schedule regular program of practice in season.
- Work closely with the Athletic Director in scheduling intramural and interscholastic contests.
- Recommend the purchase of equipment supplies and uniforms as appropriate.
- Maintain necessary attendance forms insurance records and similar paperwork.
- Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that student are present.
- Assume responsibility for enforcement and compliance with all MHSAA regulations.
- Provide guidance to high school athletics regarding NCAA recruiting and academic regulations.
- Establish and enforce district physical and academic requirements for eligibility.
- Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
- Perform any other tasks as required by the Principal Athletic Director Superintendent and/or the Superintendents designee.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Abide by state statutes board policies and regulations.
- Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators and/or supervisors.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulations.
- Serve on committees as assigned.
- Remain current on instructional practices in education.
Terms of Employment: Salary and work year will be established by the Board.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on
Evaluation of Certified and Classified Professional Personnel.
