Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to be a key member of the Database Service (Non-Relational) team. This role will own end-to-end Finance support including P&L management and planning. Additionally this role will drive strategic new feature launches and process improvements across the organization. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively manage multiple and time sensitive deliverables across a highly matrixed organization along with managing risks and opportunities. The individual will also possess strong business partnership skills and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities
- Take the lead in financial planning; build complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance
- Owning end-to-end P&L management and influence business decisions that drive revenue and/or capital expenditures
- Support strategic new features launch and ad-hoc requests and assist in various requests from finance and business leadership.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements including automation and coordination with upstream and downstream organizations.
- Partner with Finance teams across AWS to standardize streamline and prioritize improvements remove roadblocks and increase the reliability and efficiency of reporting.

- 3 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science) or Bachelors degree and 5 years of quantitative role (engineering process re-engineering quality assurance) experience

- 4 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
- 4 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 4 years of identifying leading and executing opportunities to improve automate standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Six Sigma Black Belt
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
- Experience as a lean sensei or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
