Job Description

Educational Assistant / SPED Office Manager

Cottage Grove High School

8 hour/day

2025-2026 School Year

Cottage Grove High School is seeking an educational assistant/SPED office manager to help in special education classrooms and schedule/file IEP paperwork. This EA should place a high priority on being highly organized relational have high expectations appreciate collaboration and be an important part of the education of students.

Under the supervision of the building administrator and teaching staff the educational assistant provides could range in duties such as support and supervision for a community classroom student on a one-on-one basis. Helping students develop reading/writing/and mathematic skills in classroom and social/behavioral support in community settings. As well as contacting families for IEP meeting scheduling reviewing and filing IEP paperwork.

This position requires strong student behavior management and excellent communication with students staff and parents. The educational assistant must have strong organizational skills. The position may require the assignment of other duties as required in order to provide an education program for students. This position is temporary and dependent on student need.

Qualifications

  • The ability to help school staff establish and maintain a positive climate of learning
  • Excellent student behavior management skills
  • Superior communication skills
  • Experience and skills in reading/writing and math instruction
  • Experience working with special needs students and small groups is desire
  • Experience in working with IEPs filing computer-based skills

Salary

Salary will be determined by experience and education based on 2025-2026 salary schedule.
