Position Summary
The Title IX Investigator reports to the Director of Equity Grievance who has primary responsibility for the administration of the Equal Opportunity Harassment and Sexual Misconduct Policy (Gen.009). The Investigator assists in resolving complaints of sexual misconduct sexual harassment gender related violence including stalking and intimate partner violence and protected class discrimination bias and harassment involving students staff and faculty at the University. The investigator will work closely with the campus policy noted above as well as the Student Code of Conduct and employee policies. When a complaint is filed the Investigator will conduct a prompt and thorough investigation. The Investigator acts as a neutral party in the investigation and provides a detailed unbiased report regarding the findings of the investigation. The Investigator will assess for interim measures make accommodation recommendations and make referrals to supports both on and off campus.

Duties
In collaboration with the Director of Equity Grievance provide information to students employees and others regarding the Equal Opportunity Harassment and Sexual Misconduct Policy and Campus Choice. In collaboration with the Senior Executive for Equity and Diversity the Director of Equity Grievance and the SOU Social Justice and Equity Center facilitate training/presentations to students and student groups regarding the Universitys nondiscrimination policies and identifying and integrating best practices into the complaint resolution process Cultivate relationships with campus stakeholders (e.g. faculty students and staff) Develop and maintain relationships and clear lines of communication with campus and community partners. Collaborate with on and off campus resources including law enforcement and victim services in resolving complaints and work with the Director of Equity Grievance to ensure that the Universitys processes responses and policies are consistent with federal and state laws and regulations related to compliance with nondiscrimination laws Continuously identify and integrate best practices in the areas of Title IX and bias and discrimination investigations. Stay current with practices trends and publications in the field Build relationships with colleagues at peer institutions; review current literature and research; participate in local regional and/or national professional associations and organizations
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in social work higher education administration or related field. Experience in student conduct or an office of discrimination and harassment is highly preferred. Experience working with college students. Experience working with law enforcement district attorneys office or human resources. Professional experience conducting investigations in a University setting. Experience investigating cases of interpersonal violence. Knowledge of complexities surrounding investigations in a college setting. Title IX Investigator training certification.
