The full-time starting salary is normally 44131.00 per annum with progression available in post to 51182.00 per annum. This role also carries a 5% market supplement.

Grade: G

Full-time permanent role.

Our HR Department is looking to recruit an experienced professional for the role of Senior HR Systems Analyst. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the management maintenance and optimisation of key HR systems including Core HR Payroll Absence Management and Learning and Development modules.

Reporting to the HR Systems and Reporting Manager you will provide daily support to the Human Resources team and employees in the wider University as well as assisting with project-based activity.

This will include providing hands-on support in the following areas:

  • Ongoing support to HR and Payroll teams ensuring system configuration is fit for purpose.
  • Ongoing maintenance and development of the structure and reporting hierarchies within the system.
  • Raising Change Requests for submission to the Change Advisory Board as required and conducting necessary testing to demonstrate the effectiveness of the required change.
  • Raising support requests to the external support desk on behalf of HR stakeholders after issues have been investigated internally and monitoring those support cases to ensure their successful conclusion over the shortest time possible.
  • Leading on our data quality initiatives including mass data loads to correct records assessment of impact of changes to data.
  • Leading quarterly release upgrade activity.
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders to explore areas of development and opportunity.
  • Exploring new areas of functionality alongside the Systems Manager in line with the continual improvement agenda.

You will have a degree in IT or a related field or equivalent relevant experience with previous experience of maintaining and/or configuring Oracle Fusion HCM. You will demonstrate effective communication skills and a knowledge of data collection strategies and methods within an HR environment. You will possess the ability to quickly grasp new concepts and effectively apply learning in real-world situations. You will also be an organised and collaborative individual able to work effectively both within a team and independently using your initiative and creativity to solve problems.

The appointed candidate will normally be employed through our subsidiary company BCU Support Services Limited a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University. Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly.
