Job Description

Davies Career and Technical High School in Lincoln Rhode Island is a state school that prepares students with a technical skill set and training they can carry to future careers. Over 90% of graduates leave Davies with industry certification with students choosing from across nine different career areas: Automotive Careers Electrical Machine Technology Pre-Engineering Biomanufacturing Technology Education and Childcare Health Careers Hospitality Careers and Graphics & Interactive Media. By providing hands-on training and career preparation we not only help our students discover new passions we help ensure each Davies graduate has the academic background and technical skills needed for future is now hiring a Part-time Social Studies Instructor for School Year 2025-2026! (Limited Period Appointment- 1 year position)Monday-Friday 10:30am-2pmQualifications-RI Teacher Certification in content related area-Secondary teaching experience preferred-Masters degree preferred-Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be appropriate and acceptableEssential Duties/Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective instruction linked to Common Core State Standards (CCSS) or other content specific area at the secondary level that will facilitate meaningful learning in the course competencies of curriculum-Maintain student record including grades attendance and performance measures that assess and improve student learning-Foster a safe and productive learning environment- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that will allow students to master State and National standards-Perform other duties as assigned Skills & Understanding Required-Communicates and collaborates effectively with students families and colleagues -Know and understand industry recognized credentials and industry standards
