The Opportunity

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Lead ERP Modernization will play a critical role in the successful transformation of our financial planning processes across the CFO and business unit teams as part of our ERP Modernization project. This role will be accountable to design TC Energys end-to-end financial planning process including capital expenditure OM&A expenses corporate planning and business unit asset modeling. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and extensive experience in financial planning and ERP systems preferably SAP. The FP&A Lead will reimagine TC Energys financial planning processes and develop an integrated planning environment working with multiple stakeholders across the organization to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Following successful completion of the project implementation phase this position will transition to a permanent full-time director role supporting the Finance organization. The selected candidate will continue to provide strategic leadership and oversight within our financial operations as a key member of the Finance leadership team.

What youll do:

  • Lead a large multi-disciplinary team on the strategic redesign of our end-to-end integrated financial planning and analysis process stream as part of the ERP Modernization project.
  • Reimagine TC Energys financial planning processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization to develop and implement an integrated planning environment to streamline financial planning activities.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive financial models for capital expenditure operational expenses corporate planning and asset modeling.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams that span the CFO team(s) corporate services projects and the business units to ensure alignment of financial planning processes with business objectives.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and modeling.
  • Train and mentor 8-10 full time team members and informally lead Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on financial planning best practices and SAP Cloud ERP functionalities.
  • Monitor and manage project activities ensuring adherence to financial targets and timelines.
  • Liaison with third party vendors on the design and implementation of our FP&A processes and systems
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in financial planning and SAP systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration.
  • 10 years of proven experience in financial planning and analysis with a focus on capital expenditure operational expenses corporate planning and asset modeling.
  • Extensive experience with SAP S/4 HANA or similar implementations of FP&A processes and systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in related field.
  • Experience working in the Oil Gas or Utilities industries.
